Shelly Owen Murphy

Shelly Owen Murphy is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in school business services and accounting. Currently serving as the Director of School Business Services for St. Vrain Valley Schools since January 2014, Shelly oversees federal grant monitoring, including Covid relief grants, and manages the district’s Self-Insured health plan, which supports 1,892 employees and their dependents. Past roles include Senior District Accountant, District Accountant, and Accounts Payable Manager, demonstrating a strong background in financial management and compliance auditing. In earlier career stages, Shelly worked as an Associate at The Cohen Law Firm and as a Project Coordinator at AATA International, Inc. Shelly is pursuing an MBA at Colorado State University, building on prior qualifications that include a Certificate in Accounting from Metropolitan State University of Denver and a B.A. in Economics from Beloit College.
