Matthias Diependaele currently serves as the Flemish Minister for Finance and Budget, Housing and Immovable Heritage with the Vlaamse Overheid since October 2019. In addition, Matthias has held positions as a City Councillor and Mayor in Stad Zottegem since January 2013. Previously, Matthias was a Member of the Flemish Parliament from June 2009 to September 2019 and worked as a political assistant for Frieda Brepoels at the European Parliament from September 2006 to June 2009. Matthias Diependaele obtained a Master of Laws in International and European law from KU Leuven between 2000 and 2006.
