Alastair Dawes

Alastair Dawes has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Alastair began their career as a DB Developer working as a freelancer from 1997 to 1998. In 2013, they joined InfoStops as a Technical Sales Manager, where they worked until 2014. Afterwards, Alastair Dawes transitioned to Staffordshire University, where they held various positions. Alastair served as an Enterprise Reader from 2011 to 2015, during which they successfully bid for 12 KTPs and supervised 8. Following this, they became the Head of Enterprise from 2016 to 2017, responsible for managing and developing business engagement and enterprise activity within the Faculty of Computing, Engineering, and Science. Alastair then took on the role of Regional Innovation Manager from 2017 to 2018, where they developed regional bids and collaborations, leading to the successful £1.3m EU bid for digital transformation. From 2018 to 2021, Alastair Dawes worked as an Academic Practice Learning Manager, connecting students, graduates, and staff to industry. Currently, they serve in a leadership role as the Director of Business, Development and Enterprise at Staffordshire University, leading the transformation of several school business processes and developing external relationships to enhance the educational offering.

Alastair Dawes obtained a Master's Degree in Computing for Business from Staffordshire University in the years 1995-1997. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of the West of England between 1991 and 1994.
