Wayne Atherton Dip FCP, Cert AML

Wayne Atherton has extensive experience in the financial compliance industry. From 2005 to 2010, they worked as a Technical Consultant and later as an Enterprise Training Consultant at Bottomline Technologies. In these roles, they provided technical solutions and training for corporate, FI, and banking institutions.

In 2012, they became a Pre Sales Consultant, where they engaged with clients to design and finalize technology solutions for various financial processes. Wayne also served as the SWIFT Sanctions screening Product Owner, where they developed an in-house sanctions screening tool and presented its functionality to senior management and clients. From 2015 to 2017, they served as the Risk & Compliance Product Owner, working with key stakeholders to provide regulatory and compliance solutions for Bottomline Technologies.

In 2017, Atherton joined StarCompliance as a Senior Sales Executive, responsible for meeting with clients and prospective clients to demonstrate the firm's products and how they support Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC) requirements. Wayne also worked as a Sales Engineer, providing pre- and post-sale support for the StarCompliance solution.

Throughout their career, Atherton has consistently demonstrated their expertise and knowledge in the field of financial compliance.

Wayne Atherton received their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Nottingham Trent University, where they studied IT from 1996 to 2000. In addition to their degree, they have obtained several certifications including "Excel 2016 Essential Training" and "Excel 2016 Data Validation in Depth" from Lynda.com in 2017, an "Advance Certificate in Anti Money Laundering" from the International Compliance Association in 2015, and a "Creating a Responsive Design with Edge Reflow" certification from lynda.com in 2014. More recently, Wayne has earned an "ICA Professional Membership" from the International Compliance Association in both 2022 and 2023. In 2016, they also completed a "Diploma in Financial Crime Prevention" from the International Compliance Association.
