James O'Neill, M.A. has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. James began their career as a Paralegal Specialist at the U.S. Department of Justice, Antitrust Division, before transitioning to the healthcare field as an Electronic Records Coordinator at Community Health Centers of the Central Coast, Inc.

From there, James joined Teach For America as a TFA Corps Member, where they served as a High School English Teacher and received the ETS Recognition of Excellence Award. Following this, they took on the role of Director of Curriculum & Operations at Peer Power, managing a federal program for underserved middle schoolers.

James then transitioned to the education sector, working as an Advanced Placement Language & English Teacher at Kipp Denver Collegiate High School. James played a vital role in conceiving, building, and launching eLearning programs and curricula, incorporating various instructional design models and techniques.

James later joined Denver Public Schools as a Curriculum & Assessment Coordinator, responsible for training and professional development for a large district. During this time, they designed curricula and assessments aligned with state and national standards and facilitated numerous professional development trainings.

Prior to their current position, James worked as the founder of Atlas Obscura Denver, contributing to the promotion of unique and extraordinary places. James then moved on to Leaderboard Learning LLC as a Lead Instructional Designer, gaining experience in all stages of the design life cycle and specializing in adult learning principles.

Currently, James is employed at StarRez, Inc. as the Manager, Learning and Content. James started as a Team Lead, Learning & Content and was eventually promoted to their current role. StarRez is a global company specializing in software for resident and community life, with a customer base of over 800 universities and housing institutions worldwide.

Throughout their career, James has demonstrated expertise in instructional design, curriculum development, training facilitation, and team management. James has consistently achieved high ratings and feedback, and their work has positively impacted the lives of students, residents, and staff in various organizations.

James O'Neill, M.A. pursued their education at the University of Richmond from 2001 to 2005. During this time, they completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. Later, from 2013 to 2015, they attended the University of Colorado Denver, where they obtained a Master's degree in Educational/Instructional Media Design.
