Robert Barry

Robert Barry has extensive experience in the medical device industry, primarily focusing on the development and commercialization of innovative technologies. Robert is currently the Co-Founder and CEO of Morair Medtech, LLC, a Seattle-based medical device company that specializes in non-vapor endoluminal treatments for lung disease. Prior to this role, Barry was the Co-Founder and Chairman of Stasys Medical, where they guided the development and launch of an Interventional Cardiology platelet strength measurement device. Robert also served as the Chairman of the Board at Opticyte, Inc.

Barry's previous experience includes their role as the Co-Founder and President of Uptake Medical, where they successfully launched Bronchoscopic Thermal Vapor Ablation (BTVA) therapy for lung diseases such as emphysema and lung cancer. Robert played a key role in the technical and clinical success of BTVA vapor therapy and secured angel funding for the company. Additionally, Barry worked as an Entrepreneur in Residence at the University of Washington, evaluating the viability of ideas and concepts for commercialization.

Throughout their career, Barry has fulfilled various leadership positions and contributed to the development of several medical devices. Robert has a strong background in product development, project management, and strategic decision-making. Barry started their career as a Product Development Engineer/Manager at Pfizer/NAMIC, where they were responsible for multiple new product development projects for the cardiology and radiology markets. Robert later worked as a Senior Manager of R&D at Boston Scientific, participating in customer needs assessment and the design and development of class II and III medical devices.

Robert Barry obtained an AAS degree in mechanical engineering technology from SUNY Canton from 1981 to 1983. Robert then pursued a bachelor's degree in engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology from 1983 to 1986.
