Superintendent, Operations at Alabama State Port Authority

Bernard Scott has over 13 years of experience in the construction and engineering industry. Bernard currently serves as the Superintendent of Operations at the Alabama State Port Authority. Prior to their current role, Bernard served as a Project Manager for HPM from March 2020 to January 2021, BLOX from March 2019 to March 2020, and Field Install Manager/Field Systems Manager for BLOX from March 2017 to March 2019. Additionally, Bernard has experience in sales and marketing, having served as Sales/Rental Manager for Toyota Material Handling from January 2008 to March 2011 and Operations/Sales/Marketing for Marine Inspection LLC from September 2011 to December 2015. Bernard Scott received their bachelor's degree in logistics and operations management from Auburn University in 2005. Bernard then went on to earn their master's degree in engineering and construction management from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

They are on a team with Kevin Hamilton - Manager, Operating Administration, Scott Wallace - Manager, Maintenance, and Phillip Draughter - Manager, Theodore Operations. Bernard Scott reports to Rick Clark, Deputy Director & Chief Operating Officer.

Alabama State Port Authority

The Alabama State Port Authority owns and operates the public, deep-water port facilities at the Port of Mobile handling over 25 million tons of cargo annually. The Authority’s container, general cargo, heavy lift and bulk terminals have immediate and unencumbered access to two interstate systems, five Class 1 railroads, and nearly 15,000 miles of inland waterway connections.
