John Plansky

EVP, Head of State Street Alpha at State Street

John Plansky is the executive vice president and head of State Street Alpha. Most recently, John was the chief executive officer of Charles River Development, a subsidiary of State Street. He oversees our new global front-to-back platform, Alpha, which integrates Charles River Development, Global Markets’ products, State Street’s data services, middle- and back-office services, and third-party solutions into a seamless platform for our clients across all industry segments. He is also a member of the company’s Management Committee.

John has a history of leading global teams, growing businesses and integrating teams with different capabilities and skill sets to produce better outcomes. He joined State Street from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he led the United States’ Strategy and Global Platforms businesses. He was also a member of the PwC Advisory Financial Services leadership team.

Prior to the acquisition of Booz & Co. by PwC, John was a senior partner at Booz & Co., where he led the technology practice and advised global financial institutions such as State Street. Before taking up this role, he was the CEO of NerveWire and orchestrated the company’s sale to Wipro, where he subsequently oversaw their global capital markets business.

John has a Bachelor of Science in biophysics from Brown University.
