Alison Cooper

Alison Cooper serves as the Chief People Officer at Stats NZ since May 2023, leveraging extensive experience in human resources and people strategy. Previously, Alison held the position of Head of People Experience at Tātaki Auckland Unlimited, where leadership in organizational development and learning initiatives was prominent. Prior roles include Acting Executive Manager for Culture & People Experience at IAG, where Alison developed strategic frameworks for culture and diversity across Australia and New Zealand, as well as various positions at Air New Zealand focusing on talent management and engagement strategies. Alison's earlier career includes consulting roles at Aon Hewitt and HR advisory positions at Barnardos New Zealand, Stella Travel Services, and GlaxoSmithKline. Alison holds a BA in Psychology and History from The University of Auckland and is currently pursuing a Certificate of Proficiency in Conversational Māori at Auckland University of Technology, alongside a Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management from Massey University.
