The Intermediate Data Engineer will support the Director, Data Engineering in using cutting edge technologies to build a scalable software-as-a-service product that is used by industry leaders across the world. You will be leveraging the AWS Platform to implement data pipelines, and have the opportunity to experiment with evolving tools and new data services.

What You'll Do

• Contribute to implementation of teams’ data platform through working with: SQL / Python / Trino / AWS cloud infrastructure / Github / Visual Studio code

• Learn the business and data requirements of all our clients.

• Communicate and perform data validation with internal and external stakeholders.

• Follow proper SDLC process and policies.

• Collaborate with fellow team members on optimizations and design discussions.

• Configure of IaC (terraform / openTofu) for standing up cloud-based assets.

• Create consumable documentation of code and processes.

• Contribute to the development of API ingestions to pull data into a Data Lake.

• Contribute to the development of API ingestion code and processes to ingest data into a Data Lake.

What We're Looking For

• Computer Science or Software Engineering schooling

• 2+ years of data related development and ELT/ETL processes

• Curiosity for Data and how it impacts our day to day lives and that of our clients and sports / live entertainment fans.

• Experience with previous cloud systems for ELT/ETL data processing

• Demonstration of python development skills for data development.

• Experience in working with SDLC tools like Github / GitLabs

• Curiosity for self-improvement

• Collaboration with team members on optimizations and best practices.

• Clear and concise communication

• Previous experience working in an agile development environment.

• Previous work with REST and/or GraphQL API endpoints, and the corresponding authentication methods.

When a client mentions a problem, you perk up, excited to break it down into stories and solutions. You thrive in a fast-paced, innovative and rapidly evolving industry and business organization. Finally, you're a communicator. You are comfortable working in cross-functional teams and can share insights and expectations with stakeholders, clients, team members, and various levels of management (both technical and non-technical). You know that knowledge sharing is an important part of building world class teams and want to be a part of mentoring the next generation of Data Engineers, while taking every opportunity provided to learn and grow your own skillset.
