Bob Burrier

COO and VP for R&D at Stemina Biomarker Discovery

Bob Burrier has a diverse work experience spanning over 30 years. Bob began their career as a Research Scientist at Schering-Plough Research Institute in 1987. Bob then moved on to Sphinx Pharmaceuticals, where they served as a Project Leader for two years. In 1999, they joined Genzyme Drug Discovery as a Senior Director, specializing in Biochemistry and Cell Biology. In 2004, they transitioned to Invitrogen as the Vice President of Cell Culture Systems R&D and held this role until 2008. From 2008 to 2010, they served as the Vice President of Performance & Life Sciences R&D at EMD Chemicals, where they were responsible for global R&D activities and the integration of Novagen and Calbiochem. In 2011, Bob became the Chief Operating Officer and Vice President for R&D at Stemina Biomarker Discovery, where they focused on autism spectrum disorder research, developed commercial cell-based assays, and led marketing initiatives. Most recently, they have been a Partner at Gray Door Partners since 2015.

Bob Burrier completed their education with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biochemistry from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1979. Bob then pursued further studies at the Boston University School of Medicine, earning a Ph.D. in Biochemistry between 1979 and 1983. Bob continued their education at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine from 1983 to 1985, focusing on Comparative Medicine as a post-doctoral student.
