Jeff Thomas

Jeff Thomas has had extensive work experience in finance and accounting roles. Jeff currently holds the position of Director of Finance at StepStone Hospitality's Hotel Amarano Burbank. Prior to this, they were the Director of Finance at The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood and the Cambria Hotel Downtown Phoenix from 2020 to 2023 and 2020 to 2022, respectively. Jeff also served as the Assistant Director of Finance at Hotel Figueroa for Highgate from 2019 to 2020 and as the Assistant Controller at Hotel Figueroa for Hersha Hospitality Management from 2018 to 2019. Before transitioning into the hospitality industry, Jeff worked as a Finance, Cost and Commissions Analyst / Accounting Lead for California Lighting Sales, where they analyzed revenue, managed invoices, and conducted financial planning from 2004 to 2018. Jeff'searly experience includes working as an Accounting Assistant at Sierra Madre Trading, where they supported AR processing and ensured compliance with GAAP from 2003 to 2004.

Jeff Thomas has a diverse education history. In 2014, they obtained a Certificate in Hotel Revenue Management from Cornell University. After that, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Management from Azusa Pacific University. Jeff also studied Accounting and Finance at California State University, Los Angeles, as well as Accounting and Computer Science at Pasadena City College. In addition to their formal education, Jeff Thomas has obtained various certifications, including "HR Guidelines Everyone Should Know" from LinkedIn, "HFTP USALI Practice, Analysis & Compliance Certificate" from Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals, and "HFTP USALI Theory Certificate" from the same institution. Jeff has also acquired certifications in accounting foundations, bookkeeping, business tax foundations, corporate finance, corporate financial statement analysis, finance foundations, finance and income taxes, financial accounting foundations, leadership in hospitality management, SAP financials essential training, income statement and cash flow analysis, Acrobat Reader DC, and data science of hotel revenue optimization. Lastly, they completed a course in Hotel Revenue Management from Cornell University.
