Alan Barnhart has worked in the engineering industry since 1992. Alan began their career at Hewlett-Packard as an Electrical Materials Engineer/Process Engineer. In 1996, they moved into the role of Electrical Materials Engineer and was responsible for sourcing and quality issues for electrical/electronic components. In 1999, they joined Agilent Technologies as a Materials Engineer and interacted with Product and Design Engineers to resolve a wide range of component failures. In 2000, they worked as a Designer at ASB Design and redesigned a tone generator PCA to eliminate a very high field failure rate. From 2003 to 2005, they worked at Kyocera Wireless as a Supplier Quality Engineer and was accountable for first article inspection, quality issues, and for writing and revising specifications for cell phone charger accessories. From 2009 to 2016, they worked at Stryker Instruments/Interventional Spine in various roles including Senior Staff Advanced Sourcing Engineer, Advanced Sourcing Engineer, and Senior Supplier Quality Engineer. From 2020 to 2022, they worked at Terumo BCT as a Supplier Quality Engineer and at LivaNova as a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer and Senior Supplier Quality Engineer Consultant (Remote). Alan is currently employed at SteriPack Contract Manufacturing as a Senior Quality Engineer.

Alan Barnhart attended Lorain County Community College from 1975 to 1978, where they received an AAS in Electrical Technology. Alan then attended Ohio University from 1978 to 1980, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Lastly, they attended Aims Community College from 1995 to 1996, where they studied Microprocessors.
