Paul Wright has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Paul started their career as an E&I Technician at British Sugar in 1982 and worked there until 1989. Paul then joined Rhodia and held various positions, including E&I Technician and Senior E&I Project Engineer, from 1990 to 2006. Paul later worked at AMEC as a Senior Instrument Engineer from 2006 to 2007. Paul then joined Fabricom Offshore Services - GDF SUEZ GROUP as a Lead Instrument Engineer from 2007 to 2008. Paul also worked at Archer - the well company, where they held roles such as Lead Instrument Engineer, Senior Project Engineer, and Project Engineering Manager from 2008 to 2015. Most recently, they have been employed at INEOS NITRILES LIMITED as a Site Senior Instrument & Controls Engineer from 2015 to 2020 and is currently working at Sterling Pharma Solutions as the Head of Project and Process Engineering since July 2021. Additionally, they briefly served as the E&I Delivery Manager at Sterling Pharma Solutions from November 2020 to July 2021.

Paul Wright obtained their secondary education at Branston Comprehensive from 1977 to 1982. Paul then attended Lincoln Technical College from 1982 to 1986, where they earned a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering. Paul continued their education at The Open University from 2000 to 2006, obtaining a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Technology.

In terms of additional certifications, Paul became a Chartered Engineer (CEng MIET) through the Engineering Council in August 2011. Paul also earned the certification of FS Engineer from TÜV Rheinland Industrie Service GmbH in July 2015, specializing in Safety Instrumented Systems (FS Eng). Furthermore, Paul completed training as a TUV Functional Safety Engineer in an unspecified year.
