Michelle Kap has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Michelle began their career as a nurse at Mount Sinai Hospital of Queens and Astoria General Hospital in 1981. Michelle then worked as a Staff RN at Encino Hospital from 1982 to 1988. In 1988, they became an RN at UMass Memorial Medical Center, where they continued to work until 1996. From 1996 to 2000, Michelle served as a Nurse Practitioner at Hartford Hospital. Michelle then transitioned to BIDMC, where they worked as a Director for eight years from 2000 to 2008. Currently, they hold the position of VP of Clinical Operations at Steward Health Care, a role they have been in since 2008.
Michelle Kap started their education journey at Immaculata from 1972 to 1976. Michelle then attended Nassau Community College from 1979 to 1981, where they pursued a degree in Nursing and earned an Associate of Science (AS). Later on, they went to the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1992 to 1994, obtaining a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Nursing. Michelle then continued their education at UMass Chan Medical School from 1994 to 1996, earning a Master's degree (MS) in Nursing.
