Hamish Barney

Hamish Barney is an experienced engineering leader currently serving as the Director of Engineering for the Ton and Commercial Platform at Stone since March 2023. Prior to this role, Hamish held the position of Engineering Manager at Meta from December 2018 to December 2022, where the focus was on building a team to enhance tooling for Creators across Meta's apps. At Google, from July 2017 to November 2018, Hamish managed the Database Team and oversaw several pivotal releases including PostgreSQL support. Hamish's tenure at Groupon included roles as Director of Engineering and Senior Engineering Manager, driving the transition to a marketplace model. Earlier experience encompasses leadership as VP of Engineering at Posse, as well as various development positions at University of New South Wales and Atlassian, contributing significantly to software projects and mentoring. Hamish holds a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Business Information Technology from UNSW.
