Katie Houghton is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in healthcare administration and project management. Currently serving as Department Administrator at Stony Brook Medicine since July 2020, Katie oversees the Stony Brook Cancer Center’s Office for Community Outreach & Engagement, focusing on operational management, strategic planning, and financial support. Prior to this role, Katie was a Project Manager at Vanderbilt University, managing projects related to the Kern National Network consortium grant, and held various positions at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where responsibilities included data and grant management. Earlier career roles were at the University of Michigan Cardiovascular Center, where Katie progressed from Administrative Assistant to Program Coordinator, as well as positions in education and healthcare administration. Katie holds an M.B.A. in Healthcare from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Iowa.
