Jo Halvard Halleraker is a seasoned expert in water resources and environmental management, currently serving as Chief Engineer at the Norwegian Environment Agency since July 2013, where involvement includes implementing sustainable water management and leading a national river restoration action plan. Additionally, Halleraker contributes articles related to nature and environmental management for Store norske leksikon and works as a Guest Scientist at NTNU, focusing on ecosystem-based management through an OFFPHD project funded by the Norwegian Research Council. Previous roles include Senior Advisor at the Norwegian Directorate for Nature Management, Research Scientist at SINTEF and the Geological Survey of Norway, and Avdelingsingeniør at NINA. Halleraker holds a PhD in Ecosystem-based hydropower management from NTNU and a Cand agric degree in Natural Resources/Conservation from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences.
