Overview

Storj is the leading provider of enterprise-grade, globally distributed cloud object storage, utilizing existing excess storage capacity from all over the world to offer better performance, security, and sustainability at up to 80% less cost than traditional cloud storage providers. 

Storj is expanding into an exciting new product direction to provide our high quality decentralized storage network in more environments than ever before. In this role, you will shape the product while maintaining core principles around scalability and composability. This role plays a key part in our product direction and requires experience in running services within different configurations and shapes while maintaining availability, redundancy, performance, and durability.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain fundamental features for the Storj network

  • Participate in the management of multiple environments around the world

  • Monitor environments, servers, and applications for health, performance, and security

  • Analyze and improve performance throughout the technology stack

  • Be on-call, able to respond in a timely fashion during off-hours, and serve as production owner

  • Implement automation efforts around builds, deployment, and automatic scaling

  • Work directly with the development and support teams to resolve issues

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in cloud administration, network and routing administration, and/or colocation administration

  • Demonstrated ability to support DevOps engineers

  • Experience with Linux, Go, Bash, Git, and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins)

  • Experience with orchestration frameworks such as Kubernetes, Nomad, Docker Swarm

  • Experience with distributed systems with a focus on achieving high availability and fault tolerance

  • Strong team player, quality-conscious, excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills, and highly self-motivated

  • Ability to analyze and monitor performance bottlenecks and key metrics to optimize software and system performance

Salary Range

$164,000 - $201,000 USD depending on geo adjust/location in the U.S.
