Fausto Ferrara

Fausto Ferrara has extensive work experience in the maritime industry. Fausto began their career as a Navigation Officer at Princess Cruises, where they worked from 2007 to 2015. Following this, they worked as an International Trainer at Transas from 2016 to 2017, planning and executing training courses on various products. Fausto then joined Safebridge as a Project Manager from 2017 to 2018.

In 2018, Ferrara joined Wärtsilä Voyage as a Training Engineer, where they were responsible for planning and executing training courses on Wärtsilä SAM Electronics Integrated Navigation Systems products. Fausto also provided customer support and assisted the sales team, technical support team, and R&D team.

From 2022 to 2023, Ferrara worked as a Junior Back-End Developer at DCI Digital Career Institute, followed by a role as a Business Development Manager at marinEd starting in 2022. Fausto currently holds the position of Performance Manager at StormGeo, a role they have been in since 2023.

Fausto Ferrara's education history begins in 2000 when they enrolled in the Nautical Academy "ITN Luigi di Savoia Duca degli Abruzzi" and obtained a Diploma Perito Trasporti Marittimi (Vocational Technical Diploma in Maritime Studies) in Maritime Science in 2005.

Fausto then pursued further education in the maritime field and attended the Italian Coast Guard (Italian Maritime Authority) from 2014 to 2015, where they earned a Chief Mate License (Unlimited Tonnage) / Patente di Primo Ufficiale di Coperta ≥ 3000 GT in Nautical Science & Maritime Operations.

In 2022, Fausto decided to transition their career and attended the DCI Digital Career Institute from 2022 to 2023, specializing in Back-End Engineering in the field of Computer Software Engineering.

In addition to their formal education, Fausto has also obtained several certifications. These include certifications in Data Engineering Foundations, HTML Essential Training, Learning REST APIs, Programming Foundations: Databases, Learning Git and GitHub, Programming Foundations: Beyond the Fundamentals, and Programming Foundations: Fundamentals. These were all obtained from LinkedIn and were completed in either January or February 2023.

Before their shift to computer software engineering, Fausto obtained various certifications related to their previous maritime career. These include certifications such as JRC Instructor from JRC/Alphatron Marine, IMO Model Course 6.09 Training for Instructors "Train the Trainer" from Glasgow Maritime Academy LLP, Transas Instructor from Transas, and How to Design and Deliver Training Programs from LinkedIn. These maritime certifications were obtained between 2015 and 2018.
