John Armstrong

John Armstrong has extensive work experience in the finance and accounting sector. John joined SMH Products Ltd as an Accounts Apprentice in 1995 and later worked as an Audit Junior at Forrestals chartered accountants. John then joined UNW LLP as an Audit Senior, where they focused on the local SME market.

In 2002, John Armstrong joined EY as a Corporate Services Executive, specializing in privately owned multi-faceted groups in the construction, development, and real estate sectors. John worked with clients such as Thomas Armstrong and UK Land Estates.

In 2006, they joined UK Land Estates as an Accountant, where they were responsible for reporting and compliance for joint venture entities. John also worked on valuations of investment properties and development sites.

In 2010, John Armstrong became the Group Finance Director at Adderstone Group, where they gained detailed knowledge of the property investment and development sector. John also had experience in corporate structures, finance raising, and property-related tax planning.

John then served as the Finance Director - North East at Avant Homes before taking on an interim role as the Assistant Director of Housing, Regeneration, and Economics at Northumberland County Council. Currently, they hold the position of Financial Director at Story Homes.

John Armstrong's education history includes two notable accomplishments in the field of Accounting and Finance. From 1995 to 1998, they attended the North East Chamber of Commerce, where they earned a degree as a Fellow Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians. Following this, from 1999 to 2001, they attended Kaplan Financial Limited (formerly Financial Training Company) and received a degree as a Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant.
