Marian Yesufu serves as the Lead Film Instructor at Cal Arts (CAP) since June 2024, overseeing after-school arts education for youth in Los Angeles. Marian is also the Artistic Director of Soul Sista Comedy, involved in creating and producing touring shows, and the Founder of the Black Women in Comedy Festival, emphasizing character transformation in performance. As an Actor with Story Pirates and a former Maude Writer at The Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, Marian has extensive experience in comedy and sketch writing, including a stint as a Sketch Writer for CBS Diversity and Inclusion. Previous roles include behavior therapist and direct support professional, showcasing a commitment to supporting individuals with special needs. Marian holds multiple degrees, including an MFA in Screenwriting from the New York Film Academy and a B.A. in Communications and Public Policy from California State University of Long Beach, alongside ongoing education in comedy and education.
