Mari Wärri has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Mari started their career in 1992 at Tallink, where they worked as a Buyer and Product Group Manager until 1997. From 1998 to 2000, they served as a Brand Manager for Oy Perkko, handling brands like Swatch, Calvin Klein, and Flick Flack. Then, from 2000 to 2003, they worked at Weilin+Göös Oy as a Product Group Manager and Marketing Manager.
In 2004, they joined WSOY as an Editorial Manager and later became a Publishing Manager at WSOY (SanomaWSOY Group) from 2005 to 2008. At WSOY, they worked as a Director of Non-fiction publishing from 2008 to 2011 and as a Sales and Marketing Director from 2012 to 2013.
In 2013, Mari Wärri joined Bonnier Books Finland Oy as the Sales and Marketing Director for WSOY and Tammi until 2016. From 2016 to 2020, they served as the Country Manager at Storytel Finland Oy. Since then, they have held various roles at Storytel, including Head of Nordic Content Strategy (2019-2021), Head of Global Content Acquisition (2021-2022), and currently as the Head of Rights Management and Royalties (since 2022).
In 2020, they also had a brief stint as the Chief Executive Officer of Putinki Oy from March to October. Overall, Mari Wärri has a wealth of experience in sales, marketing, publishing, and content acquisition in the book industry.
Mari Wärri received a Master's Degree in Economics from Helsingin kauppakorkeakoulu, where they studied from 1987 to 1993.
