Maria Ekstrand

Maria Ekstrand has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Maria is currently working at Storytel as the Head of Distribution Partnerships International since November 2022. Prior to that, they held the role of Project Leader - Storytel Reader from June 2021 to November 2022, where they were responsible for sales and marketing budgets, partnerships, and operational alignment across all Storytel Reader markets.

Before joining Storytel, Maria worked at Atlas Copco, starting as a Treasury analyst intern in 2017 and progressing to various roles. From May 2019 to June 2021, they served as the Treasury & Payment Solutions Manager for Europe, Middle East, and Africa, providing treasury services, financial strategies, and improving business relationships. Maria also worked as a Treasury controller and was part of the Internal Bank Team, where they implemented risk controls and accounting activities while being based in Sweden and spending time in Dublin.

Maria's earlier experience includes working as a Senior loan agent and coach at Sambla, where they advised customers on finding lower interest rates on private loans and also supported and educated loan agents. Maria also worked as an Event Manager at Göteborgs nation, where they were responsible for organizing and managing regular lunches and overseeing all related tasks.

Additionally, Maria served in Vitsgarn Seglarskola as a Course Manager from June 2010 to May 2019, where they had the main responsibility for instructors and children, requiring skills in sailing, leadership, and team-building.

Maria Ekstrand obtained a Bachelor's degree in Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) from Lund University School of Economics and Management, which they completed between 2015 and 2018. In 2017, they also attended Universidad Pontificia Comillas for a business-related field of study. Prior to this, between 2010 and 2013, Maria attended Danderyds gymnasium where they completed a specially designed program in International Economy under the field of study called Internationell ekonomi.
