Stephanie Bush has worked in a variety of professional roles since 2002. Stephanie began their career as an Ocean Rescue with Wrightsville Beach Ocean Rescue, followed by a role as a Special Activities Instructor at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. In 2006, they worked as a Marine Salvage with Overseas Salvage, followed by a role as a Senior Research Assistant at Nova Southeastern University in 2008. From 2012-2017, Stephanie worked as a Marine Biologist, Scientist II at CB&I, followed by a role as a Remote Site Monitor at PPD. Stephanie currently holds the role of Senior Clinical Project Manager and Clinical Project Manager at Strata Oncology since 2021.

Stephanie Bush has an extensive educational background. Stephanie obtained a Master of Science in Marine Biology from Nova Southeastern University between 2007 and 2011. In 2016 and 2018, they completed a Graduate Certificate in Geographic Information Science from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. In 2002 and 2003, they attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa to study Marine Biology. Stephanie also obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Marine Biology from the University of North Carolina Wilmington between 2001 and 2005. Additionally, Stephanie has several certifications, including Oxygen Administration, CPR, First Aid, AED, and Bloodborne Pathogens from the American Safety Training Institute (obtained in 2015), Dry Suit Diver from PADI (obtained in 2014), Protected Species Observer from BOEM (obtained in 2013), AAUS Scientific Diver (obtained in 2008), Enriched Air Nitrox Diver from PADI (obtained in 2008), Rescue Diver from PADI (obtained in 2008), Advanced Open Water Diver from NAUI (obtained in 2003), and Open Water Diver from PADI (obtained in 2003).
