Principal Hypersonic Test Operations Engineer at Stratolaunch

Joe Stripe began their work experience as an Engineer II at Manitowoc Crane Group in 2001, where they focused on project management, product development, and support. Joe then moved on to The Stanley Works in 2005 as a Product Engineer, working on new product development and existing product support for the Hydraulic Tools division. In 2011, Joe joined Scaled Composites, where they held various roles, including Design Engineer, Responsible Engineer for Fuel and Electrical Systems, and finally, as Proteus Project Engineer and Flight Test Engineer. In 2013, they also pursued independent work as an Aircraft Mechanic. Most recently, in 2021, Joe became the Principal Hypersonic Test Operations Engineer at Stratolaunch.

Joe Stripe completed their Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Western Michigan University in 2001. Joe then pursued an Associate of Applied Science in Aircraft Maintenance Technology from Portland Community College, graduating in 2011. In addition, Joe has obtained various certifications including Commercial Aircraft Pilot, Inspection Authorization, Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic, Registered Professional Engineer, and Registered Professional Mechanical Engineer.
