Michi Kono

Michi Kono currently serves as the Head of Engineering for Identity and Radar ML at Stripe, where a significant business unit revenue growth of 50% year-over-year was achieved, along with the prevention of substantial merchant fraud. Prior experience includes a role as Head of Engineering for Payment Processing at Meta, managing orchestration and reconciliation capabilities across multiple products, and facilitating a vast payment ecosystem worth over $100 billion. Michi also held leadership positions at Capital One, focusing on machine learning fraud detection and modernizing the enterprise platform, and was previously the CTO at Monsoon Company, which was acquired by Capital One. Michi co-founded Splurgy, served as VP of Engineering at Payvment, and worked at Verifi Inc. and Hydra, all of which experienced acquisitions by larger companies. Educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Cognitive Sciences with a specialization in Computing from UCLA.
