Stronghold was founded by Ryan Turner in 2016 and today has over $1 billion in capital commitments across 10+ investment vehicles.

Ultimately, Stronghold intends to apply its technology-intensive investment approach to a variety of specialist real assets verticals, including:

  • Specialty Real Estate (commercial, datacenters, marinas)
  • Telecommunications and Technology Infrastructure
  • Billboards and Fixtures
  • Mining & other commodities
  • Utilities
  • Secondaries

Responsibilities:

  • Architect and lead the development of state-of-the-art data infrastructure that supports scalable application workflows, analytics, machine learning, and data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Work closely with both investment professionals and technical teams to deeply understand and anticipate data requirements, ensuring our data architecture and systems anticipate demand and drive significant business value.
  • Establish and maintain data governance and quality standards across the company, safeguarding data integrity and compliance.
  • Craft and refine data pipelines and architectures, accommodating large-scale, real-time, and batch data processing needs.
  • Convert intricate functional and technical requirements into detailed designs and high-performance software solutions.
  • Champion technical excellence and innovation, promoting the adoption of emerging technologies and practices to enhance our data engineering capabilities.
  • Mentor and lead data engineering, adopting our culture of collaboration, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Strategically plan and oversee data projects from initial concept to deployment, managing resources, schedules, and risk assessment.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Over 8 years of experience in data engineering, with an impressive track record in designing and deploying large-scale data processing solutions.
  • Extensive experience with public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform), specializing in their data services and architecture capabilities.
  • Expertise in building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines, demonstrating hands-on proficiency in big data technologies and messaging.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, data warehousing solutions, and data lakes.
  • Strong foundation in SQL and experience with NoSQL databases, coupled with an understanding of data science and machine learning ecosystems.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication abilities, with the skill to convey complex technical ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Aptitude for thriving in a fast-paced setting, reflecting SIM’s quick decision-making and transaction pace in data engineering practices.
  • Solid command over software development best practices, including agile development, code reviews, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) workflows.
