Bao Nguyen

Bao Nguyen has had a varied work experience, beginning with a Research/Teaching Assistant role at the University of Texas at Dallas in 2009. In 2011, they took on a Geophysicist Intern role at BP. From 2014 to 2020, they worked at CNOOC International as a Development Geophysicist and an Exploration Geophysicist with Nexen Energy Services and Nexen Petroleum, USA, respectively. In 2020, they completed Metis's 12-week ACCET accredited data science program and worked as a Data Scientist. Currently, they are a Senior Data Scientist - Team Lead at Studio X.

Bao Nguyen obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Geosciences (Geophysics) from The University of Texas at Dallas between 2009 and 2014. In 2021, they completed a Nanodegree in ML with Tensorflow from Udacity, and in 2022 they earned a Cert. in 6.86x: ML w/Python - From Linear Models to Deep Learning from MITx Courses. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Computer Engineering from Southern Methodist University between 2001 and 2005.
