Kento Kojima

Animation Lead at Sucker Punch Productions

Kento Kojima has extensive work experience in the gaming industry. Kento began their career as a Character Artist at Windream Ltd. in Japan from 1998 to 2000. Kento then worked at Namco Inc. as an Animator from 2000 to 2002, where they contributed to games such as Soul Calibur 2 and Tekken 5. During this time, they mentored junior animators and worked on in-game animations for various characters.

From 2005 to 2006, Kojima served as a Lead Animator at Bandai Namco Games Inc. in Japan, working on Soul Calibur 3 for the arcade version. Kento established animation pipelines, collaborated with the creative director to define animation vision, and determined animation lists in collaboration with game designers.

Kojima joined LucasArts in 2006 as a Senior Animator and later became the Lead Animator. Kento worked on projects such as Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, where they established animation pipelines, collaborated with the creative director, and determined animation lists. Kento also contributed to the canceled project Star Wars: First Assault, where they established animation pipelines and worked closely with the animation team, engineers, and TDs.

In 2013, Kojima joined 2K Games - Hangar 13 as the Lead Gameplay Animator for Mafia 3. Kento established the animation vision for the project, determined animation lists, and managed the schedule for the animation team. Kento continued in this role until 2016.

Most recently, in 2017, Kojima joined WB Games San Francisco as an Animation Director. Kento worked on projects such as DC Legends and Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. For DC Legends, they created animation assets and collaborated with engineers to improve the animation pipeline. For Harry Potter: Wizards Unite, they established the animation vision in collaboration with the art director and creative director.

Currently, Kento Kojima is working as an Animation Lead at Sucker Punch Productions, starting in 2022.

Kento Kojima attended the Academy of Art University from 1993 to 1997, where they obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree. During their time at the university, they focused on studying Illustration with an emphasis on animation.
