Kirsty Smith began their career in 2006 as a Shift Leader at The Cherry Tree in JD Wetherspoon, where they developed integral management capabilities and established a strong work ethic. In 2011, they became a Bartender at Vox Bar, where they maintained a high level of customer service and product knowledge, rejuvenated the bar's social media output, and represented the bar and the Vox brand at the Huddersfield Food and Drink Festival from 2012-2015. In 2014, they worked as a Sales and Marketing Intern at Bodleian Library Publishing, a Marketing Intern at Oxford University Press, and a Masters Student at Oxford Brookes University, where they were awarded 2nd place by Liz Marchant from Pearson for a pitch-presentation for a new educational app for English GCSE. In 2015, they began working at Pearson as a Senior Marketing Manager: Core, where they were responsible for leading a passionate and creative team of four marketing managers and three marketing executives. Kirsty then held roles as a Marketing Campaign Manager, Senior Marketing Executive, and Marketing Executive, before becoming a Digital Account Consultant. In 2021, they began their current role as Head of Marketing & Acquisition at Sumdog, and has since held roles as Head of Marketing & Customer Success, Head of New Business Sales & Marketing, and Senior Marketing Manager.

Kirsty Smith completed their MA in Publishing at Oxford Brookes University from 2014 to 2015. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of English Literature from The University of Huddersfield from 2010 to 2013. Additionally, Kirsty Smith has obtained various certifications, including a WSET Level 1 Award in Wines from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust in August 2021, a WOBI on Marketing and Creativity Masterclass from WOBI in April 2021, a Content Marketing Certificate from Target Internet in November 2017, a Social Media Certificate from Target Internet in August 2017, and a Google Tag Manager Fundamentals from Google Digital Garage in June 2022.
