Maksim Artemev

Maksim Artemev has a strong background in computer vision research and engineering. Maksim is currently working at Sumsub as a Lead Computer Vision R&D Research Engineer, where they have revolutionized liveness and deepfake detection, improved fraud detection accuracy, and pioneered bias-free data methods for global compliance. Maksim previously worked at ZERO10 as a Senior Computer Vision R&D Engineer, where they developed algorithms for 3D human shape and pose estimation. Prior to that, they were a Senior Computer Vision Research Engineer at ByteDance, where they transitioned the video processing pipeline to a temporal-based approach and implemented Vision Transformers for image/video embeddings. Maksim also has experience as a Computer Vision Research Engineer at PicsArt Inc., where they specialized in beautification techniques and led a research team in image generation and GAN distillation. Additionally, they have worked as a teacher on AI generative models at the Higher School of Economics and as a machine learning researcher at CERN, where they developed ultra-fast particle identification models and authored a paper on GANs for particle data generation.
