Surafel Ejigu, DHA, MSSA, LISW-S has held a variety of roles in the social services and health care fields since 2014. In 2014, they worked as an Assistant Caller at The Ohio State Calling Center. In 2015, they worked as the Education Chair for Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., where they coordinated high school visits, programs for the Sigma-Beta Club, study tables, and more. In 2016, they worked as a Clinical Intern and Case Manager at OhioGuidestone, where they developed therapeutic relationships with clients and provided individual, group, and family therapy. Surafel also worked as a Servant Leader Intern at Freedom School. In 2017, they worked as an Intern at Care Alliance Health Center, a HUD-VASH Intern at Louis Stokes Cleveland VAMC, and a Bellfaire JCB Youth Counselor. From 2018 to 2022, they worked as a Doctoral Student at Franklin University and a LINC Clinical Case Manager and IDDT Clinical Case Manager at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Currently, they are the Director of Clinical Services at SUN Behavioral Health.
Surafel Ejigu holds a Doctorate in Health/Health Care Administration/Management from Franklin University (2018-2021), a Master's of Science in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University (2016-2018), and a Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Psychology from The Ohio State University (2012-2016). Surafel also holds a Licensed Independent Social Worker certification from the Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board (2021), a Social Work Trainee Licence from the Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage, and family therpaist license (2017), a CAMS Collaborative Assessment & Management of Suicidality certification from CAMS-care, and a Motivational Interviewing certification from the U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs.
