Marlene Van Den Hoogen

Marlene Van Den Hoogen is the Senior MD and Chief Financial & Operations Officer at Sun Life Financial. Marlene has been with Sun Life since January 2011, serving first as Treasurer and Head of Capital Planning before taking on their current role.

Before joining Sun Life, Van Den Hoogen spent five years at BMO Insurance, where they served as Vice President and Chief Risk Officer. Marlene then spent two years at TD Insurance as Vice President of Strategic Initiatives.

Van Den Hoogen began their career in 1996 as a consultant at Tillinghast. Marlene spent eight years in that role before moving to the insurance industry.

Marlene Van Den Hoogen completed a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) at Queen's University with a specialization in finance.

Marlene Van Den Hoogen reports to Kevin D. Strain, President & CEO. They work with Ingrid Johnson - President, Sun Life Asia, Chris Wei - Chief Client & Innovation Officer, and Manjit Singh - EVP, CFO.
