Jim Cassella

Jim Cassella has an extensive work history in the pharmaceutical and academic sectors. Jim is currently the Chief Development Officer at SUN PHARMA. Prior to this role, they served as a Board Member at Trevi Therapeutics, Inc. starting in 2020. From 2016 to 2023, they were a member of the College of Arts and Sciences Advisory Board at the University of New Haven. Before that, they held the position of Chief Development Officer at Concert Pharmaceuticals, Inc. from 2015 to 2023. From 2004 to 2015, they served as the Chief Scientific Officer and EVP of Research and Development at Alexza Pharmaceuticals. Jim also worked as the SVP of Clinical Research and Development at Neurogen Corporation from 1989 to 2004. Jim started their career as an Assistant Professor of Neuroscience at Oberlin College from 1987 to 1989. Prior to that, they were a Postdoctoral Fellow in Psychiatry at Yale University School of Medicine from 1983 to 1987.

Jim Cassella obtained a BA degree in Psychology from the University of New Haven in 1976. Jim later pursued a PhD in Neuroscience at Dartmouth College from 1978 to 1983. Following this, they became a Postdoctoral Fellow in Psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine from 1983 to 1987.
