Doug Lacey

Doug Lacey has over two decades of experience in the oil sands industry, currently serving as the Director of Projects and Common Services - Bitumen Supply at Suncor since December 2002. This role involves overseeing a new division focused on Bitumen Supply for Baseplant operations. Previously, Doug held several key positions at Suncor, including General Manager of Mine Engineering and Director of Tailings Engineering, where oversight included a substantial capital development portfolio. Additional roles at Suncor included Manager of Tailings Planning and Manager of Mine Projects. Before joining Suncor, Doug worked as a Geotechnical Geologist at Terracon Geotechnique Ltd. and held positions with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission and Uranerz Exploration, contributing to regulatory compliance and exploration efforts in the mining sector. Doug Lacey holds a B.Sc. in Geological Science from the University of Saskatchewan and completed the Management Development Program at Harvard Business School in 2018.
