Eric Williams

Eric Williams serves as the General Manager of Operations for Syncrude Upgrading at Suncor since October 2021, leading all operations teams in the Syncrude Upgrader. Previously, Eric held the role of Director for Syncrude Aurora Mining, overseeing the execution of complex mining and construction plans through cross-functional teams. With extensive experience at Syncrude Canada Ltd. from May 2009 to September 2021, Eric progressed through various roles, including Aurora Mine Manager and Equipment and Reliability Engineering Manager, focusing on operational excellence, safety, and team leadership. Prior to this, Eric served as an Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Officer in the Canadian Forces, providing leadership in a combat engineering context. Eric holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada and a Master of Engineering in Engineering Management from the University of Alberta.
