Garath Lawrence

Garath Lawrence has extensive experience in change management and human resources, currently serving as Implementation Lead for the Payroll & HRIS Transition programme at Suncorp New Zealand since July 2024. Prior roles include CSIU Programme Change Manager at Massey University, Programme Change Lead Payroll & HRIS at Fire and Emergency NZ, and Change Manager for the FPIM Programme at Working In NZ Health. Garath held significant positions at Victoria University of Wellington as Programme Lead (HCM) and at Education Payroll as Manager Change / Service Design & Delivery. Previous experience includes roles at Wellington City Council, where Garath was Programme Manager Change HR and later Manager HR / Payroll Shared Services, along with various change project management roles across different organizations. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce and postgraduate studies in Labour Law, Industrial Psychology, and Industrial Relations from the University of Pretoria and the University of SA.
