Nasreddine Guerfala, MBA, P.Eng, MASc, CEM, CMVP

Nasreddine Guerfala has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Nasreddine worked at SunGrid as the Vice President of Solutions starting in 2022. Prior to that, Nasreddine was employed at Hydro One, where they held the positions of Manager of Strategy and Business Development, as well as Manager of Business Development and Market Strategy. During their time at Hydro One, they played a vital role in identifying growth opportunities, conducting due diligence, and negotiating deals. Nasreddine also closed the company's first-ever deals in battery energy storage. Nasreddine also worked at Enwave Energy Corporation as the Director of Energy and Optimization, where they led several successful grant and funding applications. Nasreddine began their career at Renteknik Group Inc. as a Senior Energy Efficiency Engineer, followed by a position at Technologie Demtroys as a Project Manager in R&D. Additionally, Nasreddine worked as a Teaching Assistant at Université de Sherbrooke and as a Continuous Improvement Manager at LEONI, where they implemented Lean management principles and methods to enhance productivity. Nasreddine started their career as an Engineering Intern at Asyril, where they optimized operating parameters and developed quality control tests. Nasreddine holds an MBA and is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng), as well as a Master of Applied Science (MASc), a Certified Energy Manager (CEM), and a Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP).

Nasreddine Guerfala has a diverse education history with a focus on technology, innovation, and engineering. Nasreddine began their educational journey in 2007 at Ecole Nationale d'Ingénieurs de Tunis, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering. Nasreddine then pursued further studies and obtained a Master of Applied Science (M.A.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Energy efficiency from Université de Sherbrooke between 2011 and 2012.

Continuing their academic journey, Guerfala went on to pursue a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) in Management of Technology and Innovation (MTI) at Ted Rogers MBA at Toronto Metropolitan University from 2015 to 2017. As part of their commitment to professional development, Guerfala has also obtained several certifications. In 2011, they obtained the TOEIC certification from ETS, showcasing their proficiency in English. In 2012, Guerfala earned the Certified Measurement & Verification Professional certification from the Association of Energy Engineers.

In 2015, Guerfala obtained the Professional Engineer (P.Eng) certification from Professional Engineers Ontario, highlighting their expertise and dedication to the field of engineering. Two years later, in 2017, they achieved the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification from the Association of Energy Engineers. Recently, in 2020 and 2021, Guerfala expanded their skillset by obtaining the Developing Your Emotional Intelligence certification from LinkedIn and the E-Course on Carbon Taxation from the World Bank Group, respectively.
