Laurel Hall, PHR, SHRM-CP has a diverse work experience in various roles within the human resources field. Laurel is currently serving as the Director of Human Resources and Workforce Development at the Park District of Highland Park. Prior to this, Laurel held the position of Human Resources Manager at the Northbrook Park District from 2016 to 2023, and prior to that, they were a Human Resources Generalist at the same organization from 2011 to 2016.
Before joining the Northbrook Park District, Laurel worked as a Benefits Operations Administrator at Aon Hewitt from 2008 to 2011. Laurel also served as a Payroll & Benefits Administrator at KemperSports Management from 2006 to 2008.
Laurel's earlier experience includes working as a Financial Office/Customer Service Coordinator at Sunset Foods from 1998 to 2006. Laurel also had a short-term internship experience at Thresholds in 2003, where they shadowed case managers and worked with residents on various life skills management tasks.
Throughout their career, Laurel has gained a strong background in human resources and has demonstrated skills in workforce development, benefits administration, payroll, and customer service.
Laurel Hall, PHR, SHRM-CP completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology at North Park University from 2000 to 2004. Laurel then pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at The Chicago School from 2005 to 2007.
In addition to their academic achievements, Laurel Hall has gained several professional certifications. Laurel obtained the Professional in Human Resources® (PHR®) certification from the HRCI in January 2013 and from the HR Certification Institute in March 2019. Laurel also obtained the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification from SHRM in December 2015. Furthermore, Laurel obtained the Professional in Human Resources (PHR®) certification once again from the HR Certification Institute in July 2022.
