Jason Gibson has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Jason started their career in 2011 as a Senior Business Analyst at Queensland Health, where they worked on the upgrade of the SAP Finance system and mentored junior Business Analysts. In 2012, they joined the Department of Communities as a Senior Business Analyst and Project Manager, developing solutions for data analysis in the homeless sector. Concurrently, they also worked at Origin Energy as a Senior Portfolio Business Analyst, assessing the viability of new CAPEX O&G projects and implementing improvement strategies.
Jason then worked as a freelance IT Consultant at Anne Richmond Pty Ltd, where they implemented and upgraded a custom CRM solution. In 2014, they joined the Department of Science, Information Technology and Innovation as a Senior Business Analyst and Project Manager, leading the implementation of a solution for capturing and managing information across all Queensland Government entities. Jason also developed departmental BA processes and procedures.
From 2014 to 2020, Jason worked at Telstra as a Senior Business Analyst, managing a greenfield transformation project and saving the business significant costs. Jason then joined Genie Solutions in 2021 as a Senior Business Analyst, providing innovative solutions to their online patient management software.
In 2022, Jason joined the National Recovery and Resilience Agency as a Senior Business Analyst and Project Lead, where they worked until 2023. Jason then briefly worked at the Nine Network on a reality TV show before joining Sunwater as a Senior Business Analyst in July 2023.
Throughout their career, Jason has demonstrated expertise in business analysis, project management, solution implementation, and team leadership.
Jason Gibson obtained a Bachelor of Business degree in Information Technology from Australian Catholic University, completing their studies between 1999 and 2004. In 2007, they furthered their education in the field of Information Technology by completing courses in BPMN Modelling and Notation at BPMN Modelling Techniques, as well as System Architect Suite - Intermediate at System Architect. In 2008, Jason acquired skills in scheduling by earning the Vale Methodology at Engineering Education Australia and completing an advanced project management course, Primavera P6 Project Management - Advanced, at Primavera Systems. Jason is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Business/Commerce, General at QUT (Queensland University of Technology), which began in 2019 and is expected to be completed in 2024.
