Rachel Jensen has a diverse background in water resources engineering, specializing in flood risk assessment and management. Rachel has worked at Sunwater as a Design Flood Manager, responsible for delivering flooding assessments and assisting with dam risk during major events. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Water Resources Engineer at Sunwater, where they managed live dam operations and improved understanding of flooding and dam risk.

Before joining Sunwater, Rachel worked at BMT as a Senior Hydraulic Engineer, focusing on economic flood damages, flood risk assessments, and workflow automation. Rachel also served as the office innovation catalyst, driving innovation and ensuring a client-focused approach.

Earlier in their career, Rachel worked as a Hydraulic Engineer at BMT WBM Brisbane, where they gained experience in flood modeling and community consultations. Rachel worked on various projects, including urban drainage networks and the Brisbane River flood study.

Rachel Jensen obtained their Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) and Bachelor of Arts degrees from The University of Queensland from 2008 to 2013. Their fields of study were Civil Engineering and German Language. Prior to that, Rachel attended Rockhampton Girls Grammar from 2001 to 2006, although it is unknown if they obtained any degrees or pursued specific fields of study during that time.

In addition to their educational background, Rachel Jensen has obtained the certification of Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) from The Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland in February 2020.
