Sam Waldron has a diverse and extensive work experience in the civil engineering and water resources sector. Sam currently holds the position of Project Director at Sunwater since March 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Thiess, where they held various roles including Manager- New Work, Project Development Manager, Principal Civil Engineer, and Acting-Civil & Environment Manager between 2010 and 2022. Before that, they were an Area Manager-Earthworks at Wyaralong Dam Alliance from April 2009 to July 2010. Sam also served as a Project Manager-Dams Engineering at Queensland Water Infrastructure from July 2007 to March 2009. Sam Waldron had a long tenure at Cubbie Group as Development Manager-Irrigation & Storages from March 1997 to June 2007. Sam started their career as a Technical Officer-Water Resources at Qld Department of Natural Resources from January 1996 to February 1997.

Sam Waldron's education history begins in 1987 when they attended Ipswich Grammar. However, no degree or field of study is specified for this period. From 1992 to 1995, Sam studied at the University of Queensland, earning a Bachelor of Applied Science in Rural Technology with a focus on Agricultural Science. They then went on to attend the University of Southern Queensland from 2004 to 2009 and obtained a Bachelor of Engineering Technology in Civil Engineering. Most recently, in 2019 and 2020, Sam obtained a Diploma in Project Management from Engineers Australia - The Moreland Group.
