Sheila Curran Bernard

Sheila Curran Bernard is an accomplished academic and author currently serving as an Associate Professor and Director of the Graduate Program in Public History at the University at Albany, SUNY since August 2008. Bernard's expertise also includes directing the Institute for History and Public Engagement and has previously held the prestigious title of Anschutz Distinguished Fellow in American Studies at Princeton University. With a rich background in writing and production, Bernard has contributed significantly to various prestigious projects, including as a consulting writer for Stone Lantern Films and as a writer for Twin Cities Public Media Commons. Bernard has authored notable works for Cambridge University Press & Assessment and Routledge Taylor & Francis Group, focusing on American music history and documentary storytelling. Educationally, Bernard holds a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Goddard College and a Bachelor of Science in Communication from Boston University.
