Michael Rygel

Professor at SUNY Potsdam

Michael Rygel's work experience includes positions at various companies and universities. Michael started their career as a Geoscience Intern at ChevronTexaco in 2004. Michael then worked as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln from 2005 to 2006. In 2006, they joined SUNY Potsdam as an Assistant Professor and later became an Associate Professor. Since 2018, they have been working as a Professor at SUNY Potsdam. In 2011, they served as a Summer Faculty Member at Indiana University and also worked as a Consultant at Devon Energy from 2011 to 2013.

Michael Rygel completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Geology at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown from 1996 to 2000. Michael then pursued a Ph.D. in Earth Science at Dalhousie University from 2000 to 2005. Additionally, they briefly studied at Indiana University Bloomington in 1999, although it is unclear if they obtained a degree or field of study from this institution.
