Stephan Carlson

Stephan Carlson, MD, MBA, FAPA, currently serves as Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine and holds multiple leadership roles at One Brooklyn Health, where responsibilities include Director of the Comprehensive Psychiatry Emergency Program and oversight of medical education. Carlson is also the Editor in Chief of Adolescent Psychiatry, a peer-reviewed journal focused on psychiatric disorders in adolescents. Additional academic positions include Associate Professor at Ross University School of Medicine and Director of Clinical Education at Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center. Previous roles include Assistant Professor at New York Medical College and Hofstra North Shore-Long Island Jewish School of Medicine, as well as Medical Director of Addiction Psychiatry Services at Staten Island University Hospital. Education includes a Fellowship in Law and Psychiatry from Columbia University, a Psychiatry Residency from Vanderbilt University, an MD from Louisiana State University, and a BA from The Johns Hopkins University.
