Provost And Vice President For Academic Affairs at SUNY Maritime College

Jennifer Waters has a wealth of experience in the field of academic affairs and naval engineering. Jennifer currently serves as the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at SUNY Maritime College since July 2020. Prior to this, they held the position of Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at the U.S. Naval Academy from December 2012 to June 2020, where they were responsible for curricular matters and oversaw student participation in exchange programs. Jennifer also served as a Professor of Naval Architecture & Ocean Engineering and Chair of the Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering at the U.S. Naval Academy. Additionally, they have been actively involved with the Webb Institute, serving as a member of the Board of Trustees since October 2014 and chairing the Academic and Student Affairs Committee. Jennifer also held the role of Vice President at the American Society of Naval Engineers from 2009 to 2012.

Jennifer Waters received their B.S. in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering from Webb Institute in 1991. Jennifer then went on to earn their M.Eng. and Ph.D. in Ocean Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology in 1993 and 1995, respectively. Jennifer also holds a certification as a Professional Engineer from the State of Maryland.
