Miguel Romero

Miguel Romero has worked in the software engineering field since 2009. In 2011, they were a Java Development Analyst Consultant at DB-System, where they led a migration to convert an old Oracle Intranet application into a Java Web application for the Colombian National Army. Miguel also maintained and optimized a platform for the management of the public transport cards of Bogotá. In 2009, they were a Java Development Analyst Consultant at Camaleón Multimedia, where they developed and maintained a platform for the enrollment process in around 200 schools. In 2018, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Domicilios.com, where they created and supported features in their internal user's platform and designed and implemented an integration with an external payment gateway for their restaurants' platform. In 2019, they were a Full Stack Engineer at LendingFront, where they improved the UX by re-engineering the UX and reducing memory consumption and latency by refactoring the backend APIs. In 2020, they were a Full Stack Software Engineer Specialist at ScotiaGBS Colombia del grupo Scotiabank, where they supported and improved the API that allowed new enrollments in the bank during the spring campaign for a new bank's product. In 2021, they were a Java Software Engineer at Zertificon Solutions GmbH. Currently, they are a Senior Backend Engineer at Superchat, where they are implementing integrations with Nylas and WhatsApp Cloud APIs and monitoring them on Sentry and DataDog.

Miguel Romero has a Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering from Universidad de Cundinamarca (2003-2008). Miguel also holds a Diploma in Mobile Application Development from Universidad Piloto de Colombia (2014-2015).
