Gabriela Miller, MHP

Gabriela Miller, MHP has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. In their most recent position as Development Manager, Operations & Stewardship at Supermajority, they manage the mid-level donor and stewardship programs while supporting development strategies to raise critical funding. Prior to that, they founded and served as the President of Self-Reclaimed, an organization focused on healing, empowering, and uniting survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Gabriela was also a Consultant and Independent Contractor at FirstPerson Narratives, where they provided trauma-informed leadership and oversight for group-trauma therapy programs. Additionally, Gabriela has experience as the Director of Development at The LeaderShop, a Development Assistant at Make-A-Wish® Illinois, and as a Mental Health Professional at JCFS Chicago, where they cared for the emotional and physical needs of youth with complex trauma. Gabriela also co-founded and served as the Executive Director of Asension Performing Arts, an inclusive Christian organization that provided low-cost or free programs to Chicago artists. Throughout their career, Gabriela has demonstrated a passion for social justice, healing, and community-driven work.

Gabriela Miller, MHP has a strong educational background in the field of social work and psychology. From 2008 to 2014, they attended Loyola University Chicago and obtained a Bachelor of Social Work degree, focusing on Social Work and Psychology. In 2015 to 2016, they pursued further education at North Park University, earning a Master of Arts in Christian Formation degree from the Seminary. During the same period, Gabriela also completed a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Governance, specializing in Nonprofit Administration at North Park University.

Furthermore, Gabriela has pursued additional certifications to enhance their expertise. In 2022, they obtained a Somatic Attachment Therapy Certificate from The Embody Lab, as well as certifications in Managing Power & Leadership and Sexual Assault & Domestic Violence 101 from Self-Reclaimed. In 2022, Gabriela also acquired the "Keeping Children Safe from Sexual Abuse for Professionals, Caregivers and Parents" certification from the Chicago Children's Advocacy Center. In 2021, they further expanded their knowledge with certifications such as CE Bodyscore courses focused on various topics like writing and breathing with our bodies, working with core wounding, somatic experiments towards embodied safeness, trauma and recovery through dance, creative movement and yoga for incarcerated women. Gabriela also completed the Majority Leaders Program offered by Supermajority, committed to action for gender and racial justice, and building political power among women. Additionally, Gabriela acquired expertise in dealing with the ambiguous grief of adult children of refugees through the "Unnameable Losses" certification from Chicago Minds. Lastly, in 2020, Gabriela completed the Grant Writing Master Course provided by Grant Writing & Funding.
