Ali Akhtar

Graduating as a telecommunications engineer from NUST, Ali joined the Satcoms industry in 2010 beginning his career as a systems engineer. His appointment in 2012 as Supernet’s first Product Manager was followed by an elevation to Senior Product Manager in 2014 for Supernet’s entire Satcoms portfolio. As a key executive of the satellite industry, Ali has had the lead role in coming up with practical solutions to connect the unconnected in Pakistan.

Ali’s accomplishments have earned both him and Supernet international recognition including the Community Effort Award 2013 and Innovation Awards 2014, 2016, and 2017 from Yahsat and the Young Talent Award 2017 from Asia Pacific Satellite Communications Council. In 2018 Ali was included in the Space and Satellite Professionals International’s “20 under 35” list of professionals having a profound impact on the industry. In 2019, Supernet appointed Ali as the Business Unit Head for Telecoms & Defense. Since then, in addition to Satcoms, he has diversified his profile through significant triumphs in cyber security, transmission, and networking solutions and deployment of optical fiber networks.
